June 2007 Returning from Ohio to California on a road trip I visited Colorado and produced four galleries.
Apr. 28, 2007 By late April, all the snow has gone from Bodie, but the grass has not begun to grow.
Mar. 11, 2007 The winter of 2007 brought little snow to the whole Sierra area. By early March the town of Bodie had only scattered patches left. Bodie is the preserved remnant of a mining town active from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
Jan. 10, 2007 Visited Death Valley for the day. Arrived in the middle of the night by moonlight and visited Dante's View and the valley floor.

Jan 2, 2007 The Fall Spawning Brown Trout Gallery has been updated with images marking the location of the fish in each image and where each image was taken in the spawning channel.
Dec. 25, 2006 On Christmas Day I drove a loop in the southern California mountains, up the Sunrise Highway and down through Cuyamacha. The air was crystal clear. The view North of Kwaaymii Point was much clearer than when I last shot it in October. The view extended north to San Gorgonio and San Jacinto and east to the Granite Mountains 108 miles into the Mojave Desert.
Dec. 18, 2006 For the panoramas that have peaks lebeled, there is now a Peak Lists web page here, usually with bearing, range and elevation of peak from TOPO!. These include Last Chance Peak, Sierra Vista, Sunrise Highway and Telescope Peak with more to come!
Dec. 14, 2006 I've now marked bearings and peak names on a north and west view from Telescope Peak in Death Valley on November 5. View the complete image, the horizon cut with bearings added and the horizon cut with bearings and peaks marked.
Dec. 11, 2006 New Crystal Pier sunset pictures. Some are time exposures to blend the wave action. This is an interesting effect!

Dec. 5, 2006 More of November's Death Valley-Telescope Peak Panoramas have been added. More to come!
Nov. 10, 2006 The brown trout of the Sierra Nevada migrate up the small feeder streams to spawn every fall. Check out this fall's spawners.
Nov. 5, 2006 This morning I watched the sunrise from 11,049' at the top of Telescope Peak in Death Valley National Park. So I've started adding new panoramas from the day to the Death Valley Panorama Gallery.
Nov. 1, 2006 There is a new gallery of Sunrise Highway Panoramas. (The Sunrise Highway runs north from I-8 in to the Lagunas.) I have prepared a version of the northern view with peaks labeled. The Banning fire kept air quality down, but Mount San Jacinto is clearly visible at over sixty miles away, and even farther views show across the desert.

Oct 7, 2006 San Diego's Mission Trails Regional Park Panoramas from sunsets and day hikes.
Oct. 3, 2006 Panoramas are difficult to display on a computer screen. You can't look at the whole image at once and a complete high resolution image can take quite a while to download. The approach taken here involves creating intermediate sized images for viewing in the panorama viewing galleries. For the panoramas available for download and purchase there is a link to a gallery with the high resolution files. Here is a description of panoramic sales on SMUGMUG.
Oct. 1, 2006 Crystal Pier surfing pictures. These images are free to download.
Sept. 22, 2006 Gradient Files: If you edit images there are soft shading and masking effects you might like to perform. There is now a gallery of sample gradient images with trigonometric (sinusoidal) gray scale with horizontal and/or vertical structure and a suggestion on how to use them. These were originally developed for use with Picture Window Pro.
Sept. 18, 2006 Digital downloads are available for panoramas starting in White Mountain and Mount Whitney Trail galleries. The digital downloads are larger files than the files in the panorama viewing galleries. While SMUGMUG does not provide full aspect ratio panoramic print fulfillment, this is an opportunity for you to acquire panoramic images. As we get the larger files in place, you can order digital downloads or Cropped Panoramic Prints. How can you view or get prints from your panoramic download? Check out Panoramic Printing Resources.
