Whitney Trail Panoramas
These panoramas were captured while hiking the trail to Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the 48 contiguous states.
Twenty-five of these pictures were taken 2006-07-16. That was my 37th time up Mount Whitney and the 31st year in a row I've made at least one dayhike up Mount Whitney. The arrival of a humid air mass at the same time I reached the summit kept me from getting clear 360 degree pans from the summit. Rain and snow began before we got down to Trail Crest. Thunder began as we descended the swithbacks.
